Quantum Random Number Generator .py script installation.

Here are the installation instructions for the py script version of this program.
This is published under the MIT license. Please link to this website, goldpundit.com, when using the software and credit Frederick Westinghouse. More coming soon about how this works.

Download the py script itself:

Download the latest version of the quantum program:

Download Anaconda Python:

Install Anaconda Python if you have not already:

Windows (64 Bit): Download

MacOS (64 Bit): Download

Linux (64 Bit): Download

Ubuntu Terminal (the $ sign indicates that the command starts there. Run the command without the $).

   $ cd /tmp
   $ wget https://repo.anaconda.com/archive/Anaconda3-2020.11-Linux-x86_64.sh
   $ bash Anaconda3-2020.11-Linux-x86_64.sh

Check HERE for the latest version of anaconda python on their website.

Now close all windows that opened due to the installation.

Running the software:

Windows: Hit the Windows key (Looks like a window) and ‘s’ at the same time. A search bar will appear. Or just click on the search bar at the very bottom of your screen (the taskbar). Type ‘Anaconda Prompt’ and press enter. A window should open.

Then run the following command in this window, assuming that you downloaded the file to your downloads folder (If you download files to another folder replace ‘Downloads’ with the folder that you downloaded to, assuming that that folder is one of your main folders (like Pictures or Documents)). To run the command press enter.

python3 C:/Users/<INSERT_YOUR_USERNAME_HERE>/Downloads/Quantum_Random_Number_Generator_Latest.py

Linux: Open Terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T).

Run the command below. Replace ‘Downloads’ in the following command with the folder where your file is located if not in Downloads (Pictures, Documents, etc.). (The $ sign indicates that the command starts there. Run the command after it, without the $ sign). To run the command press enter:

$ cd ~/Downloads
$ python3 Quantum_Random_Number_Generator_Latest.py

macOS:

Hit command + spacebar (command and spacebar at the same time) to open spotlight search. Type ‘anaconda prompt’ and press enter.

A window will open. Run the following commands in that window (the $ sign indicates that the command starts there. Run the command after it, without the $ sign). To run the command press enter:

$ cd ~/Downloads
$ python3 Quantum_Random_Number_Generator_Latest.py

How to interact with the program:

The program will launch in the same window. The first time you run the program it will take a few minutes to download and install the necessary dependencies. Then follow the program’s built-in instructions.

This software is based on Qiskit and runs on real quantum computers at IBM. You will need to create an IBMQ account HERE. In order to connect your IBM account to this program, you will have to copy in your API Token. But don’t worry: run the program and an easy opportunity to do so will be given. If you don’t know how to find your API Token you should run the program, type ‘info’ when prompted, and instructions will be given.
